Default Ritualist Weapons for PVP & PVE

Hi, this is my first time playing Ritualist class and I really enjoyed it a lot more than my other chars. However, I still dun have a clear idea on good Ritualist weapons for both PvE n PvP. There are some guide about the weapons in the stickied guide but I need to know what is the best for my ritualist. Is 20/20 wands n 20/20 focus works best on Channeler Spike Rit? What weapons for spirit spammer? Is weapons is not that important because we will be holding an item all the time? How about weapons for resto rit? Thanks in advance.

~ A newbie to Ritualist

p/s: Sorry for giving a lot of questions at the same time.

Let's just say you're using the common Flag Runner.

40/40 Channeling set (Cast Splinter with this)
40/40 Restoration set (Cast your Resto stuff with this)
Defensive set, +5E / +30HP martial with a +30HP / +10 vs. Type shield. (Switch back into this after every cast)
High energy set (Go into this if you're screwed over in energy)

Basically, a 40/40 set for all of the skill types you're using. If you're using enchantments that last less than thirty seconds, bring a staff too. Preferably in place of the attribute used.

Oh, and under certain weapon spells for certain builds it's different. If you're camping your item spell, for example on a Caretaker's Charge bar, I suggest camping your item spell. If you're running the nerfed Weapon of Remedy bar, only use the party healing when needed. Oh, and don't use the item spell with people around in terms of GvG, because if they pick your flag up you have to run back to get it again.

Oh, and I also suggest sitting on your defensive and swapping after every cast in PvE aswell. Weaponswapping after every cast is good for battlefield awareness etc.

Same goes for weapon swapping while holding an item; some hilarious moments you get screamed at ... should do each of those one time ... so you'll never forget it again

You could go into a 'safe' place and use pwk then immediately pick up the flag again if your party needs a party heal though

And let my lost survivor be a lesson to you.
Ashes used while using +60hp weapon set require some math before use ...

Cripple inscription*

spirit spammers don't need actual weapons as they get no bonus from it. just swap to a high energy set if needed, then sit back and regen for ages. (not that i'd suggest spirits, anyways).

generally, rits have to worry the least about weapons compared to other classes.

you should be watching your energy and health with ashes though. you lose all your +e/hp from weapons, so you might be useless for a while (or sac with them). if you don't use any skills such as caretakers, take ashes with a short affect that you can use quickly. like blind was mingson (drop -> run in mob blind -> run out).

I'm really talking about PvP more, but I guess the same can apply to PvE in a sense. And what about Protective Was Kaolai?

Thx guys for those suggestions. I guess I'll just need to get 40/40 set for channeling and resto line only. How about using martial weapon for +5 energy & shield for extra armors for spirit spammers? I guess that will work.

To be honest I would just use some random weapon, as Moko said.

Like others have said, Rits don't have to worry about weapons as much as other professions.

One note, though...

If you're going Resto, don't worry about half-cast time MODs. Most Resto spells are very swift.

Yes, some of the Restoration spells are swift but most of your weapon spells have at least a 5 second recharge. 5 seconds is a long time when your weapon spells are on a timer.

I swap between a 20/20 Channeling Celestial Compass and a 20/20 Restoration Celestial Comass, a +5e Votaic Spear with +30HP mod and a Draconic Aegis +30hp with +10AR v Peircing. I also have the +20% sword if I'm running any enchantments in my build.

Keep in mind that the only PvP that I do is AB and RA. I am mainly into PvE so these weapon sets serve me well.

With the builds i've used for channeling i've found 40/40 sets pretty useless because of the fast recharge times of most channeling magic skills, and i use renewing surge along with pwk plus caretakers charge and also through a spirit or two down and use essence strike i never run out of energy and i'm constantly spamming damage so basically i love my build but back to your weapon set i like tek use a channeling celestial compass but mines +30 and armor +10 armor peircing (haven't gotten around to taking it off yet) and use a brass spear with +5en and +30 hp and i also switch between a 20/20 channeling offhand and a sheild with +30 +10 armor to fire but thats just me most of the time i stay on my first set

Staves do a much better job at increasing enchantments.

I still suggest you use the 40/40 sometimes though, since there are times when your item spell will be down, faster casting and recharge is always helpful aswell.

Yea, I know they do. But caster weapons look cooler. Also, I spent a shit load of time & money collecting Req 9 Celestial Compasses for each attribute so I'd rather use the offhand than a Staff.

Rits can often be really cheap to outfit. If you play builds with items spells often, you hardly need one at all. However, I suggest getting 40/40 sets of atleast channeling and resto, as those are the ones you will use most often.

Item spells disable weapon slots so it doesn't matter.
If you want to use the weapon slot I'd go with a bow and spliter/barrage In about all other situations, carring the item spell should be more useful.

I prefer to take 0 energy weapons / offhands.
Reason: If you cast an item spell you lose the EN the weapons give. If you have low energy then you will have a negative energy and will have to wait until it's regenerated.

Item spells only reduce you to your energy without weapons, so you just have to be smart with energy.
